John, to answer your question, LST workers do occasionally find themselves working with Readers who speak very little English. LST has a specific workbook ("In the Beginning") for people whose English is very limited. I've also found it helpful to preview the text in Spanish before using the lessons in the Luke workbook.

I agree that the growing Hispanic population would benefit greatly from Friendspeak and similar ministries!

Garth Hope just told me that Rebecca Hope, who is on the Argentina mission trip, said that one of their readers wants to be baptized. Praise God!

Hi John. The domestic version of LST is called Friendspeak. It is the same study, but it is applied locally. We will have a Friendspeak group on MON very soon. Our church will be starting this ministry in September.

I have some interest in using LST among non-English speaking (or very little English speaking) people stateside. I didn't see a discussion of that... is that something LST does? With the growing hispanic population, I can see this being a great mission field here. Thoughts?

Is there any reasonable way to get FriendSpeak added to the name of the group? Or should a separate group be done for this?

Hello Debra,

Tks for sharing the story about Satan. Because you have faced these difficulties and faced them down will just make you a better recruiter for LST. We trust that God will be bringing you just the right kind of readers as you start the project. Keep us informed.

Thanks for the info. I am sure the four are doing a great work for God.

Donna, Courtney is with Ryan and Claudia Newhouse and Shevin White. Claudia is from Chile, and Ryan served as a missionary there. With God and this group, she is in good hands!

I'm also remembering in prayer Courney Berry who is in Chile. Is anyone else from HP there with her?

Well, back to the story of Mr. Satan. As I said before we all have our reasons for not being able to go on a trip. I came home so excited and on fire for God and was ready to return to Peru as soon as possible! But Satan didn´t like that at all. In my story from a couple of days ago, you will recall all the arrows Satan hit me with AFTER my return from Peru. He knew I wanted to go again, so he had to do something drastic to make me not want to leave. Go back and read what all happened to me, if anyone had an excuse for not wanting to leave my home, vehicle and animals again, it was me. It would have been so much easier to say, ¨That´s the last time I´ll go on a trip.¨ Now I´m not saying that so anyone will pat me on the back! On the contrary, I tell you this story so that you will see Satan uses everything he can to keep us from doing God´s will. Satan broke my heart, attacked my posessions and even my animals. Granted it wasn´t on the scale of Job, but it was enough to make me second guess ever going on a mission trip again. Has Satan used something important in your life to keep you from saying yes to a Let´s Start Talking Trip? Stand up to him! Jesus is right there beside you! Tell Satan to jump in the river. Take that bold stand to go on a trip. I´m not telling you its gonna be easy, but it will be worth it! Well that´s all for now. Yes, there is more! That´s just how Satan attacked me after my arrival home from my first trip, wait til I tell you how he used my son todiscourage me from going this year! More next time! Stand strong in your faith and say yes to a Let´s Start Talking Trip! I did and I will!
