Celebrate Recovery, Week 4
Wednesday night was another great night for our group. Our numbers were down a bit this week - some of which might have to do with McKinney High School using our building - but the 'quality' of our evening was still exceptional.
We talked about the sanity that can be found through YOUR/OUR Higher Power, Jesus Christ. The INsanity - continuing to do the same thing over and over...but expecting a different result - is Satan's way of fooling us into thinking we're getting better.
Our groups were an intense time of sharing and confessing. While it's painful to let the words come out of one's mouth, the burden that is lifted by admitting to other brothers and sisters in Christ that we are powerless and need God's help outweighs the pain. The men's group also had a new superhero, The Controller, make his debut. Yes, yet another inside joke. Join us next week...as we'd love to have you share some time with us.

Hmm . . . I wonder what The Controller is.
Tim continues to tell me how he has benefitted from these sessions, and how he looks forward to them.
Glad that you guys continued to meet despite the location change. I understand that it is pretty essential to keep these meetings going, as some need them just to get through the week.
So glad that you have taken on this ministry, Chris. God is already using this in powerful ways.

We had a great meeting tonight. James did an awesome job leading & we had about 11 women that had poweful things to say about turning their life over to God & trusting in him to deal with their life issues. It is so hard being human & wanting things on OUR timetable instead of the Lords. But we don't know the big picture.....I looked for the man who you mentioned James but did not see him
